Resolve to Be Mobile-Friendly in 2015

image title

Hopefully, as the year comes to a close, you’re reviewing your marketing strategies. Are you on top of your social media but lack a nice website? Or, do you have a beautiful webpage that’s not-so-pretty when it appears on a mobile device? If you’ve been ignoring mobile optimization, it’s time to snap out of it! In 2015, having a mobile-friendly website is not an option, it’s a necessity, if you want to be successful and have a higher ranking in searches.

Google Ranks Mobile-Friendly Sites Higher

Earlier this month, Google announced that they were adding a mobile-friendly label to their search results. Google automatically determines if websites are optimized for mobile using its Webmaster tool. Any sites that pass the test get the golden mobile-friendly label. The rest of the sites, that are in the dark ages of desktop-only compatibility, remain unlabeled and will be ranked lower on the list of results.

Mobile Optimization Results in Happier Customers

You may feel like the search engine giant is a big, bad bully implementing these policies; but, in reality, they’re trying to help you out. Google recognizes the frustration that consumers feel when they arrive to a website, only to find itty bitty text, tiny links and content that requires them to scroll side-to-side to view it entirely. No one has time for those shenanigans! Busy consumers want their shopping experiences to be quick and easy, especially when they’re on the go. By optimizing your website for mobile, you will gain happier customers and likely see an increased conversion rate.

Don’t be afraid of making the leap to mobile. We can help you see the light! Have you had a really great or kinda crummy experience with mobile websites before? If so, we’d love for you to leave your comments below.
